The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for towing services, with various suppliers, that
were deemed qualified by the City of Miami, for an initial contractual period of three (3) years with
the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods, on a citywide, as needed basis, under RFP
No 287252. Allocating funds from the various sources of funds from the user departments and
agencies, authorizing said services as needed, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval.

Background Information:
The City of Miami requires towing services to remove vehicles resulting from accidents, vehicles
posing a traffic hazard, scofflaw vehicles, abandoned vehicles, stolen vehicles or to retrieve
vehicles from water and similar situations requiring placement of vehicles in storage locations.
On January 30, 2012, the Purchasing Department issued Request for Proposals (RFP No.
287252). As required by the Procurement Code, the RFP was advertised and issued online. On
April 20, 2012, at the opening, nine (9) proposals were submitted, and the Evaluation Committee
has deemed their qualified. The City Manager is authorized to execute a Towing/Wrecker
Agreement, in substantially the attached form(s), with all nine (9) firms. The average annual
ordinance income is $214,219.36. The average annual ordinance expense is $151,720.29. The
proposed start up fees total amount for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 is $269,850.00.
