he still came home with a prize — a fiancee.

er Noah Yablong had prac-
ticed several hours every
day for months. The Para-
lympic Games in London
were his big shot at a rare
opportunity.
But that wasn't why he

fiancee," said Yablong, 24,
of Ocean Ridge, a seaside
town in Palm Beach
County.

riage proposal, but he lost
his matches. A s he wheeled

disease, called Legg Calve
Perthes, starves bones of
blood, strips awaycartilage
and gives preteens the hips
of 70-year-olds.
Despite it, he discovered
n aptitude for playing
sports sitting down, espe-
cially tennis. By the end of
2 LB1 he was ranked No. 41 in
the world and was soon
bound for the United King-
dom to compete among 112
of the very best wheelchair
tennis players.

adjust to their pace, the
spin, things I've dealt with
before but never quite on
that level," Yablong said.
On Friday, Yablong
joined more than 400
Olympians and Paralym-
pians on the White House
lawn to shake hands with
President Barack Obama.

fiancee lives in Arizona, so
he's looking West for his
first job.
"My personal bright and
shining moment didn't

Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Miami,
Florida, will consider the following ordinances on second and final
reading on September 27, 2012, commencing at 5:05 p.m., in the
City Commission Chambers located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami,
Florida:
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DEFINING AND
DESIGNATING THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI
FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAXATION; ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE
MILLAGE AND LEVYING AD VALOREM TAXES IN THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,
2012 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2013; CONTAINING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE. .
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACH-
MENT(S), RELATED TO TAXATION, DEFINING AND DESIGNATING
THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; FIXING THE MILLAGE
AND LEVYING TAXES IN SAID DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT DIS-
TRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1. 2012 AND
ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2013. AT .478 MILLS ON THE DOLLAR OF
NONEXEMPT ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND PERSONAL
PROPERTY IN SAID DISTRICT; PROVIDING THAT SAID MILLAGE
AND THE LEVYING OF TAXES WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AS REFLECTED IN THE CITY'S MILLAGE
LEVY ORDINANCE FOR THE AFORESAID FISCAL YEAR WHICH IS
REQUIRED BY CITY CHARTER SECTION 27; PROVIDING THAT THE
FIXING OF THE MILLAGE AND THE LEVYING OF TAXES HEREIN
SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS; PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL NOT BE DEEMED AS REPEALING OR
AMENDING ANY OTHER ORDINANCE FIXING MILLAGE OR LEVYING
TAXES, BUT SHALL BE DEEMED SUPPLEMENTAL AND IN ADDITION
THERETO; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Said proposed ordinances may be inspected by the public at the Office of
the City Clerk, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, Monday through
Friday, excluding holidays, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or at
http://egov.ci.miami.fl.us/LegistarWeb/frameset.html, five days before
the date of the Commission Meeting.
All interested persons are invited to appear at the meeting and may be
heard with respect to the proposed ordinances. Should any person desire
to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter
to be considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim
record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence
upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
