A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "RECORDS
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT", AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$20,941, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE MIAMI-DADE OFFICE OF
GRANTS COORDINATION, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE
ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Office of Grants Coordination has approved a grant
award, in the amount of $20,941, for the purpose of facilitating the City of Miami ("City") Department
of Police's efforts to create an organized system of records management to provide for a smooth
process in recording and accessing criminal justice information; and
WHEREAS, this award does not require any local match; and
WHEREAS, said grant program is for the period of October 1, 2011, through September 30,
2012;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: Records Improvement Project
RESOURCES: Miami -Dade County/Office of Grants Coordination $20,941
APPROPRIATIONS: $20,941
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, and all necessary documents, in order to implement the acceptance and
administration of said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
