A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID
RECEIVED SEPTEMBER 12, 2011, PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BID NO.
267267, FROM MIKE DAVIDSON FORD, THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF FIVE (5) RUBBISH
TRUCKS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE , FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $409,625, FOR ALL FIVE (5) RUBBISH TRUCKS; ALLOCATING
FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT CODE 39000.212000.664000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, on or about August 22, 2011, the City of Miami Purchasing Department issued
Invitation to Bid ("ITB") No. 267267 for four (4) rubbish trucks, five (5) bids were submitted and
tabulated, and Mike Davidson Ford was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, prior to award, the Department of Solid Waste determined they had adequate funds
at this time to purchase a fifth rubbish truck; and
WHEREAS, Section 18-85(h) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, allows the
City Commission or the City Manager to negotiate with the lowest bidder for better pricing; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing acting as the designee of the City Manager, obtained a
"best and final offer" from Mike Davidson Ford to purchase all five (5) rubbish trucks at a reduced
price of $ 409, 625;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The bid received September 12, 2011, pursuant to ITB No. 267267, from Mike
Davidson Ford, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as amended, by the "best and final
offer" from Mike Davidson Ford, for the procurement of five (5) rubbish trucks for the Department of
Solid Waste, is accepted.
Section 3. The acquisition of five (5) rubbish trucks is authorized, in a total amount not to exceed
$409,625, with funds allocated from Account Code 39000.212000.664000.0000.00000.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
