HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-11-0470City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-11-0470 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00943 Final Action Date: 11/17/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM SUB -RECIPIENT AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT FUNDING FOR FLORIDA URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE ("USAR") TASK FORCES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $227,689, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES, TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE TO ACQUIRE EQUIPMENT, PROVIDE TRAINING IN STATE FIRE MARSHAL APPROVED USAR TRAINING COURSES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT AWARD. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant, in the amount of $227,689 from the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services; and WHEREAS, pursuant to grant stipulations, said funds will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue for the acquisition of specialized equipment and to provide training, management, and administration of the South Florida Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") Program; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a special revenue project for the appropriation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: State Homeland Security Grant Program Sub -recipient Agreement for Expenditure of Local Government Unit Funding for Florida USAR Task Forces for Fiscal Year 2010 RESOURCES: State of Florida, Department of Financial Services $227,689 APPROPRIATIONS: $227,689 City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 11-00943 (Version: 1) Printed On: 10/23/2017 File Number: 11-00943 Enactment Number: R-11-0470 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Agreement, in substantially the attached form, in order to implement the acceptance and administration of said grant award. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
