HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-11-0461City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-11-0461 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00762 Final Action Date: 11/17/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 2009 EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT ADMINISTRATION FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,972.86 TO THE CITY OF MIAMI NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT TEAM HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS TO HOMELESS FAMILIES AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 09-0293, adopted June 18, 2009, the City Commission approved the allocation of Emergency Shelter Grant ("ESG") funds in the amount of $352,822 to the City of Miami ("City") Neighborhood Enhancement Team ("NET") Homeless Assistance Program to provide essential services to the homeless population of the City and the allocation of $10,912 to the City's Department of Community Development 2009 Administration account for administrative costs; and WHEREAS, per Part 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 576, the ESG funds need to be expended within twenty-four (24) months from the date of the grant award; and WHEREAS, there is a current account balance $6,972.86 in the Department of Community Development's 2009 Administration account and an account balance of unspent funds in the amount of $47,907.47 in the City's NET Homeless Assistance Program for a total of $54,880.33 of ESG grant funds of the $352,822 grant award available; and WHEREAS, NET will continue to utilize these funds to provide hotel accommodations to homeless families; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of the City's Department of Community Development 2009 ESG Administration funds, in the amount of $6,972.86, to the City's NET Homeless Assistance Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of the City's Department of Community Development 2009 ESG Administration funds, in the amount of $6,972.86 to the City's NET Homeless Assistance Program, to continue to provide hotel accommodations to homeless families, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 11-00762 (Version: 2) Printed On: 10/23/2017 File Number: 11-00762 Enactment Number: R-11-0461 and incorporated, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
