HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-01011 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), RATIFYING THE CITY MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF AN INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL REGULATION, DIVISION OF HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS AND THE CITY OF MIAMI, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO REGULATE AND ENFORCE ELEVATOR SAFETY IN BUILDINGS OPERATED AND MAINTAINED WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") wishes to maintain the regulation and enforcement of elevator safety in the City; and WHEREAS, the attached Interagency Agreement ("Agreement") authorizes the City to issue permits, certificates and perform inspections in elevators located within the City's jurisdictional boundaries; and WHEREAS, the Agreement, unless terminated, will remain in effect until June, 2020; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager's execution of an Agreement between the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants and the City, in substantially the attached form, to regulate and enforce elevator safety in buildings operated and maintained within the City, is ratified. Section 3. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
