AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION MAKING PROVISIONS FOR
EARLY VOTING IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATUTE
§100.3605, FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 1, 2011;
DESIGNATING CERTAIN SITES AND TIMES FOR EARLY VOTING; CONTAINING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Florida Statute §101.657 allows for early voting at various locations in Florida; and
WHEREAS, no county, state or federal elections are scheduled for November 1, 2011 however,
the general municipal election for the City of Miami is scheduled on November 1, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Florida Statute §100.3605 allows for a municipality to conduct early voting at times
determined by the municipality so long as the early voting does not conflict with the Florida election
code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to conduct
early voting at times set forth herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Early voting in the City of Miami for the municipal election will be on November 1, 2011,
in the following designated sites and times.
Early Voting Sites for Districts 1, 2, and 4:
1) Allapattah Branch Library
2) Lemon City Branch Library
3) Miami City Hall
4) Shenandoah Branch Library
5) West Flagler Branch Library
6) Stephen P. Clark Building
Dates and Times:
1799 Northwest 35th Street
430 Northeast 61 st Street
3500 Pan American Drive
2111 Southwest 19th Street
5050 West Flagler Street
111 Northwest 1st Street
Saturday - Saturday, October 22, 2011 through October 29, 2011 - 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is
declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after final reading and adoption
thereof.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within
ten days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the
effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
