A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO
REVOCABLE PERMIT NO. 8 ("AMENDMENT"), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND ALLAPATTAH
COMMUNITY ACTION, INC., FOR THE CONTINUED USE OF THE CITY -OWNED
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2257 NORTHWEST NORTH RIVER DRIVE, FORMERLY
KNOWN AS 2251 NORTHWEST NORTH RIVER DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, IN
CURTIS PARK, TO PROVIDE ELDERLY INDIVIDUALS WITH DAILY LUNCH TIME
MEALS, AND EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, PROVIDING FOR
AN ANNUAL INCREASE FROM $100 TO $200, WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AS MORE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN THE AMENDMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 83-468 and 84-394, the City Commission approved and
allocated a total of $571,620 from the Federal Jobs Bill and Community Development Block Grant
Contingent Fund to construct a new meals facility in City of Miami ("City")owned property located at
2257 Northwest North River Drive, formerly known as 2251 Northwest North River Drive, in Curtis
Park ("Property") for Allapattah Community Action, Inc. ("Permittee"); and
WHEREAS, Revocable Permit No. 8 ("Permit") was issued on September 16, 1985 for an initial
term of five (5) years with extensions of one (1) year periods upon request by Permittee and an
annual fee of $100; and
WHEREAS, the City and Permittee have agreed to allow Permittee to continue to provide daily
lunch time meals, Mondays through Fridays, and educational and recreational activities to
approximately 500 elderly individuals in the Allapattah area; and
WHEREAS, the City and Permittee have agreed to an increase in the annual fee to $200 with all
terms and conditions top remain the same as set forth in the original permit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute a First Amendment to Revocable Permit
No. 8 ("Amendment"), in substantially the attached form, between the City and Permittee, for the
continued use of the City -owned Property, to provide elderly individuals with lunch time meals, and
educational and recreational activities, providing for an increase in the annual fee to $200, with terms
and conditions as more specifically set forth in the Amendment.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

the Mayor. {2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
