Adopt a Resolution accepting Legislative Pre -Disaster Mitigation Grant ("LPDM") from the State of
Florida, Division. of Emergency Management, for the above -mentioned project in the amount of
$599,999.99. The required matching funds are available from Capital Improvement Project No. B-
30588 San Marco Island Drainage Improvements for a required match in the amount not to exceed
$2,153,804.55 for a total amount of $2,753,804.54.
Background Information:
As a Legislative Pre -Disaster Mitigation Program Project, the City of Miami, proposes to improve the
drainage area referred as LPD 2010-006 San Marco Island Storm Sewer Project. The proposed
project is located in San Marco Island between Biscayne Island and San Marino Island, Latitude
25.4318, Longitude 80.1037. The City of Miami will design and construct drainage improvements
pipe collection system, pump stations, drainage wells, and force main piping to evacuate excess storm
water into Biscayne Bay. The project will also entail road reconstruction, striping, tree planting,
swale restoration, and signage.
