HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-11-0357City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-11-0357 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00763 Final Action Date: 9/15/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE DE -OBLIGATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $86,352.74, FROM THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CDBG RESERVE ACCOUNT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds were allocated to the agencies specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, in the total amount of $3,509,046; and WHEREAS, these agencies will no longer use the remaining balances and as such these balances need to be de -obligated and returned to the CDBG reserve account; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the de -obligation of CDBG funds, in the total amount of $86,352.74, from the agencies specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated and the allocation of said funds to the City of Miami Department of Community Development CDBG reserve account; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The de -obligation of CDBG funds, in the total amount of $86,352.74, from the agencies specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, is authorized, and said funds are allocated to the City of Miami Department of Community Development CDBG reserve account. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
