HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00601 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $115,130, FOR THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) CITYWIDE BICYCLE RACK AND SIGNAGE PROJECT, B-30694; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NUMBER 4 TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") applied for and was awarded a stimulus grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA"), administered through the State of Florida Department of Health, in an amount not to exceed $276,000, for the implementation of the City's Bicycle Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the project scope includes the installation of bicycle racks in Miami -Dade County schools throughout the City and the installation of bicycle racks and signage Citywide; and WHEREAS, Amendments Number 1, 2 and 3 to the Grant Agreement were executed to revise the deliverables of the project and resulted in no fiscal impact to the City; and WHEREAS, the City has now been awarded additional grant funds, in the amount not to exceed $115,130; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into Amendment No. 4 in order to implement the acceptance of the additional grant funds; and WHEREAS, said grant funds are to be appropriated by separate resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Additional grant funds from the State of Florida Department of Health, in the amount not to exceed $115,130, are accepted for the ARRA Citywide Bicycle Rack and Signage Project, B-30694. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute Amendment Number 4 to the Grant Agreement, in substantially the attached form, in order to implement the acceptance of said funds. Section 4. BRU CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
