A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, CODESIGNATING
NORTHWEST 32ND AVENUE FROM NORTHWEST 13TH STREET TO
NORTHWEST 17TH STREET , MIAMI, FLORIDA, BYA FOUR -FIFTHS VOTE, AS
"REV. OBEL GUZMAN WAY;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Miami Section 54-137 requires four votes to codesignate a
street for a living individual; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Obel Guzman is the beloved pastor at the Bautista Buenas Nuevas de Miami
church; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to honor his devotion to the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. By a four -fifths vote, Northwest 32nd Avenue from Northwest 13th Street to Northwest
17th Street, Miami, Florida, is codesignated as "Rev. Obel Guzman Way".
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a
copy of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, Miami -Dade County
Public Works, and the United States Postal Service.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
