Subject: Interlocal Agreement with Miami Shores Village for Disposal of Clean Yard Trash
Purpose of Item:
A resolution of the Miami City Commission with attachments to authorize the City Manager to
execute an inter-localagreement with Miami. Shores Village, in substantially the attached form, for a
term not to exceed three (3) years, with two (2) one-year options to renew, on a year by year basis for
the use of the Miami Virginia Key Compost/ Mulch Facility for its disposal of clean yard trash at an
agreed upon disposal fee rate.
Background Information:
The Miami Virginia Key Compost/ Mulch Facility'has been in operations as a cost savings measure
since 1994. It is the desire of the Solid Waste Department to maximize the use of the facility by
generating some revenues to supplement the operation by continuing to enter into interlocal
agreements with neighboring municipalities.
