HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 35D0 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00535 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH COASTAL SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, INC., FOR THE PROVISION OF MISCELLANEOUS MARINE AND COASTAL ENGINEERING SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000, THEREBY INCREASING THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM $750,000, TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $950,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE FROM THE APPROPRIATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NUMBER 2 TO THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 06-07-017, on July 29, 2008, the City of Miami ("City") executed a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement") with Coastal Systems International, Inc. ("CSI"), for the provision of Miscellaneous Marine and Coastal Engineering Services in an amount not to exceed $500,000; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10-0522, adopted November 18, 2010, the City Commission authorized Amendment Number 1, which increased the Agreement expenditure limit in an amount not to exceed $250,000, from an original $500,000 to a total amount not to exceed $750,000; and WHEREAS, CSI will be tasked with the design and implementation of the baywalk and remediation phase of the Museum Park Project, B-30179, which includes landscaping, drainage, lighting, pavement, site furnishings and environmental remediation; and WHEREAS, the current remaining contract balance is not sufficient to cover the costs anticipated for the project; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to enter into Amendment Number 2 with CSI, increasing the Agreement in an amount not to exceed $200,000, .from $750,000, to a final amount not to exceed $950,000; and WHEREAS, funds are to be allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings -contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. An increase to the Agreement with CSI, for the provision of Miscellaneous Marine and Coastal Engineering Services, in the amount of $200,000, thereby increasing the Agreement from $750,000, to an amount not to exceed $950,000, is authorized, with funds for said increase, allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Project. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1 } to execute Amendment Number 2 to the PSA, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS`! JULIE O. BRU CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
