Subject: Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 245245 Stretchers and Accessories
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a city-wide contract for the procurement of Stretchers and
Accessories., from Henry Schein, Inc., for an initial contractual period of one (1) year with options to
renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds
of the user departments, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Department of Fire -Rescue has a need to procure Stretchers and Accessories, to replace old out -
of -service stretchers and procure accessories for in-service stretchers as the need arises. With this
purpose, on March 18, 2011, the Purchasing Department issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB No.
245245). As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued online. Bids were
due and two (2) bids were received on April 6, 2011. The Department of Purchasing is recommending
award to, Henry Schein, Inc., the sole responsive and responsible bidder, per bid specifications. The
estimated annual amount is $27,000.00.
