To provide funds for the expansion and/or improvements of pre -
hospital emergency medical services (EMS).

Local Governments (County)
Only county governments can receive these grant funds, but at
the counties' option they may distribute the grant funds to EMS
organizations within the county as they deem appropriate.
The funds cannot be used as a match for grants provided under s.
401.113(2)(b), F.S.
The funds must be used to improve and expand EMS and cannot
be used for replacement, continuing current operations, or to
supplant other funds.
Information about the grant cycle and the application time period
dates is placed on the department's website.
Applicants obtain a copy of the "EMS County Grant Program
Application Packet" or county grant booklet and complete the
application form within. The form must be submitted within the
publicly advertised dates.
Each county is entitled to receive back 45% of the funds it
deposits into the state EMS Trust Fund as the amount of its grant.
This is not competitive and upon approval by state staff the funds
will be used to improve and expand EMS, the funding is provided
in the predetermined amount.
Deadlines vary each year and are advertised on the website of the
Bureau of EMS.
