The nature of this item is to procure Toughbooks and Mounting Hardware for the Department of
Police and awarding items under both Group 1 - Toughbooks, in the amount of $362,792.00, and
Group 2 - Mounting Hardware, in the amount of $48,200.00, to Radio One - Communications
Service Company, pursuant to IFB 220227. Funds are allocated from FY 09 Recovery Act Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, Account No. P=19-900001, T=02, A=1623,.
E=664000, 0=191501.
Background Information:
The City of Miami Police Department has a need to procure Toughbooks and Mounting Hardware.
On June 24, 2010, the Purchasing Department issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 220227). As
required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued online. On July 20, 2010, at the
bid opening, twelve (12) bids were submitted and are tabulated. The Purchasing Department is
recommending award to Radio One - Communications Service Company, for both Group 1 -
Toughbooks, and Group 2 - Mounting Hardware, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on a
group by group basis, per bid specifications. The total contract amount is $410,992.00.
