The Nuisance Abatement Board was created to resolve controversies over the existence of public
nuisances, such as volatile use of property in Miami.
Pursuant to Sec 46-2 (a) (1), The Nuisance Abatement Board was created to serve as a quasi-
judicial forum in which controversies over the existence of public nuisances may be resolved in the
public interest with due process of law. This board shall consist of five individuals who reside,
own real property or maintain a business office within the City of Miami and who are appointed by
the city commission. All members shall serve a term of one year or until the nominating
commissioner leaves office, whichever occurs first. Each city commissioner shall nominate one
member for appointment to the board. Any member may be reappointed by the city commission
for not more than six consecutive terms. Appointments to fill a vacancy shall be for the
remainder of the unexpired term.
Two (2) appointments are required at this time.
• Vice Chairman Frank Carollo has one (1) nomination for a seat currently:
1. Vacant.
• Commissioner Richard Dunn II has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:
1. Milton Hall, Sr., incumbent, whose term expires on July 8, 2011.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the June 09,
2011 Commission agenda.
