Director Chief City Manager Page 1 of 2 The City of Miami Information Technology Department has fourteen (14) laptops and adapters that are no longer under warranty as of 2007. Since the configuration and capability of these laptops are very low to efficiently run the multiple City of Miami enterprise applications and the newer version of the operational system, the Information Technology Department wishes to donate these laptops to Curley's House of Style Incorporated, Carol Manor Center and Martin Fine Villas Community Center. Section 18-82(a), of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled "Disposal of surplus city -owned personal property," states that a surplus declared as "Category A" stock shall be available for disposition as the City of Miami's ("City's") contribution or the City's commitment in support of a particular public purpose, which may include those community, civic or social service programs as may be authorized by the City Commission. The Curley's House of Style Incorporated, Carol Manor Center and Martin Fine Villas Community Center have all agreed to accept the donation of these fourteen (14) laptops and adapters as the sole property owners and to use them in their capacities as community organizations providing service programs to their respective communities. The Curley's House of Style Incorporated, Carol Manor Center and Martin Fine Villas Community Center have agreed to make all the necessary repairs to the laptops should they need to. In connection with its control and exclusive use of the laptops, Curley's House of Style Incorporated, Carol Manor Center and Martin Fine Villas Community Center are wholly responsible for all future costs of their maintenance and repairs; and The Curley's House of Style Incorporated, Carol Manor Center and Martin Fine Villas Community Center will utilize these laptops to provide access to families in need in an effort to improve the quality of life for residents within Liberty City, Allapattah, Brownsville, City of Miami, Little Haiti, West Little River and many others.
