Director City Manager V _ CC " Page I of 2 Background Information On May 6, 2004, the Miami City Commission adopted Resolution No. 04-0294 for the acquisition of CityView Software from Municipal Software Corporation, to include software, implementation services, training maintenance, technical support, and other related services for purposes of providing a Zoning compliance, Code Enforcement, and permitting and inspections computer system. Said resolution approved a five (5) year contract, which expired on June 30, 2010. During the first five (5) year agreement, the CityView software was used to create and maintain the City of Miami's Code Enforcement system and various other applications. The software has become integral to the Department of Code Enforcement's ongoing operations of the City of Miami's complaint, ticketing, violation and Lien processes. In an effort to continue providing software maintenance and support services for the CityView Software, the Department of Information Technology negotiated a new maintenance agreement with Municipal Software Corporation to continue supporting the CityView proprietary software. However, said agreement could not be presented to the Miami City Commission for approval because "Municipal Software Corporation", was purchased by another company, name of "MS Govern, a Division of N. Harris Computer Systems" prior to the agenda deadline. Since that time, a new revised four (4) year maintenance agreement with the new Company "MS Govern, a Division of N. Harris Computer Systems" has been obtained and is enclosed for review and approval by the Miami City Commission, in accordance with Chapter 18, Section 18-86(3)(D), of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, for the support of proprietary software applications such as CityView. The proposed annual cost will not exceed S30,339 over the next four (4) years. Page2of2
