A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE
INTER -AGENCY AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY"), (THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF
PARKS AND RECREATION), THE SCHOOL BOARD OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY,
THE MIAMI-DADE AREA VI OFFICE OF THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION, DIVISION OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION, AND MACTOWN,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED PROJECT
SEARCH PROGRAM AT THE CITY, WITH SAID PROGRAM DESIGNED TO
PROVIDE MARKETABLE JOB TRAINING AND SOCIAL SKILLS FOR YOUTHS
WITH DISABILITIES, TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL OF SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City"), through the Department of Parks and Recreation, will
continue to implement the nationally acclaimed "Project Search" program that teaches marketable job
training and social skills for youths with disabilities at several City worksite locations; and
WHEREAS, said program is implemented with a unique public -private collaboration between
the City, the School Board of Miami -Dade County ("MDCPS"), the Miami -Dade Area VI Office of the
Florida Education Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation ("VR") and
MACTown ("MACT"); and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to execute a Cooperative Inter -agency Agreement
("Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, setting forth, the in -kind contributions of each
agency for the successful implementation of said program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, between the City, through the Department of Parks and Recreation, MDCPS, VR and
MACT, to continue the nationally acclaimed "Project Search" Program at the City, with said program
designed to provide marketable job training and social skills for youths with disabilities to achieve the
goal of sustainable employment.
Section 3. The Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
