A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DECLARING NO
OBJECTION AND SUPPORTING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY RESOLUTION NO.
224-11, ADOPTED APRIL 4, 2011, CODESIGNATING NORTHWEST 2ND AVENUE
FROM NORTHWEST 30TH STREET TO NORTHWEST 36TH STREET, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AS "DOROTHY QUINTANAAVENUE;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO TRANSMITA COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN
DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Miami -Dade County Resolution No. 224-11, adopted April 4, 2011,
requesting an honorary designation of a road located within the City of Miami, the Miami City
Commission has no objection and supports the proposed street codesignation of Northwest 2nd
Avenue from Northwest 30th Street to Northwest 36th Street, Miami, Florida, as "Dorothy Quintana
Avenue."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission declares it has no objection to Miami -Dade County
Resolution No. 881-09, adopted June 30, 2009, and supports the proposed street codesignation of
Northwest 2nd Avenue from Northwest 30th Street to Northwest 36th Street, Miami, Florida, as
"Dorothy Quintana Avenue."
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Departments of
Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County Public Works Department and the United
States-Posta I-Sewice.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
