The City of Miami is aware of proposed legislation that will severely impact the City of Miami's economy
stability. Representative Brandes has included a provision in House Bill 1363, specifically, Section 27, lines 1577-
1602 that will create Section 479.075, sign permit fee limitations. In the event this provision is passed, the City of
Miami will face a shortfall in excess of approxirnately two million dollars ($2,000,000) representing fees associated
with the erection of billboards and murals.
The City of Miami severely and strenuously objects to and opposes the language contained in House Bill
1363 Section 27, lines 1577-1602 that will create section 479.075, sign permit fee limitations. The City of Miami,
via the unanimous adoption of Resolution No.11-0169, adopted April 28, 2011, attached hereto, vehemently urges
you oppose the language contained therein.
This language will serve to benefit few at the cost of many. We thank you in advance for your attention to
this matter and your continued support for your constituencies.
Sincerely yours,
Commissioner Richard P. Dunn, II, District 5
