BACKGROUND:
The attached Resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community
Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") authorizes an extension to the term of the professional services agreement
with Weed -A -Way, Inc. to provide landscaping maintenance services for CRA owned/maintained properties for a
period of one (1) year with two (2) options to renew and further authorizes funding in an amount not to exceed
$50,000 for said service.
The CRA awns certain properties and seeks to ensure the proper maintenance of rights -of -way throughout the
Redevelopment Area by providing regular landscaping maintenance. Thus on April 8, 2015, the CRA issued
Request for Proposals ("RFP") 15-03 for landscaping maintenance services for CRA owned/maintained
properties and thereafter the Board of Commissioners, by CRA-R-15-0029, authorized the execution of a
professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. as the top ranked proposer to the RFP. The CRA now
seeks to extend the term professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. for a period of one (1) year
with two (2) options to renew and funding for the same.
JUSTIFICATION:
Section 2, Goals 4 and 6, at page 11, of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment
Agency Plan ("Plan") lists the "creati[on of] jobs within the community" and "improving quality of life for residents"

Further, Section 2, Principle 10 provides that "[I]ooks are important to current residents who will feel community
pride when receiving pleasant comments about where they live [and I]ooks are important to attracting investors
to make other improvements to the neighborhood."
This Resolution carries out these objectives.
