TO PROVIDE LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR CRA OWNED/MAINTAINED PROPERTIES FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR WITH TWO (2) OPTIONS TO RENEW; FURTHER AUTHORIZING FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000 FOR SAID SERVICE; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND, ENTITLED "OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES ," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is a community redevelopment agency created pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, and is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with the 2009 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan ("Plan"); and WHEREAS, Section 2, Goals 4 and 6, at page 11, of the Plan lists the "creati[on of] jobs within the community" and "improving quality of life for residents" as stated redevelopment goals; and WHEREAS, Section 2, Principle 10, at page 16, of the Plan provides that "[s]treets and buildings must be attractive;" and WHEREAS, Section 2, Principle 10 provides that "[I]ooks are important to current residents who will feel community pride when receiving pleasant comments about where they live [and I]ooks are important to attracting investors to make other improvements to the neighborhood;" and WHEREAS, the CRA owns certain properties, as listed in Exhibit "A", and seeks to ensure the proper maintenance of rights -of -way throughout the Redevelopment Area by providing regular landscaping maintenance; and WHEREAS, on April 8, 2015, the CRA issued Request for Proposals ("RFP") 15-03 for landscaping maintenance services for CRA owned/maintained properties and thereafter the Board of Commissioners, by CRA-R-15-0029, authorized the execution of a professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. as the top ranked proposer to the RFP; and City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 16-01261 (Version: 1) Printed On: 9/22/2022 File Number: 16-01261 Enactment Number: CRA-R-16-0045 WHEREAS, the CRA now seeks to extend the term professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. for a period of one (1) year with two (2) options to renew and funding for the same; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wish to authorize an extension to the term of the professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. to provide landscaping maintenance services to CRA owned/maintained properties, as listed in Exhibit "A", for a period of one (1) year with two (2) options to renew and wish to further authorize funds in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for said service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1 The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes an extension to the term of the professional services agreement with Weed -A -Way, Inc. to provide landscaping maintenance services for CRA owned/maintained properties, as listed in Exhibit "A", for a period of one (1) year with two (2) options to renew and further authorizes funds in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for said service. Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purpose. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a reimbursement basis or directly to vendors, upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory documentation. Section 5. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Other Contractual Services," Account Code No.1 0050.920101.534000.0000.00000. Section 6.
