A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("OMNI
CRA"), WITH ATTACHMENT(S) AUTHORIZING AN AWARD, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $1,000,000.00, TO THE PEREZ ART MUSEUM OF MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY FOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY BENEFITS TO THE REDEVELOPMENT
AREA; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO
THE GENERAL COUNSEL; FURHTER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT
BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND
SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM OMNI TAX
INCREMENT FUNDS, ENTITLED "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE
NO. 10040.920101.883000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its
Redevelopment Area in accordance with the 2009 Omni CRA Redevelopment Plan ("Plan"); and
WHEREAS, Section 4.4., Goal B, D5 at page 41 of the Plan lists providing "employment
opportunities and upward mobility for residents" by the creation of jobs within the community as a
stated redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, Section 4.4, Goal B, B3 at page 41 of the Plan lists creating "economic magnets to
draw more businesses to the Omni area to compliment established activities in the area" as a stated
redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, Section 4.4, Goal C, D1 at page 41 of the Plan provides for "maximizing of conditions
for residents to continue to live in the area" as a stated redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, the Perez Art Museum of Miami -Dade County ("PAMM") opened to the public on
December 4, 2013; and
WHEREAS, PAMM is located with the Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, PAMM and its programs are easily accessible to all, including residents of the
Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the success of PAMM has led to international press about the Redevelopment Area;
and
WHEREAS, the success of PAMM has brought hundreds of thousands of visitors to the
Redevelopment Area; and

WHEREAS, PAMM proposes to create dozens of education programs that will assist thousands of
students within the Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the success of PAMM has resulted in the removal of blight in this portion of the
Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. CRA-R-14-0050, adopted on July 23, 2014, the Board of
Commissioners authorized an initial award of $1,000,000.00 to PAMM for various community benefits
to the Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, PAMM has requested additional assistance from the CRA with additional programing
and outreach; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize an additional award, in an amount
not to exceed $1,000,000.00, for the additional programs and outreach; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that such an additional award to PAMM would
further the aforementioned redevelopment goals and objectives;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes an award, in an amount not to exceed
$1,000,000.00, to the Perez Art Museum of Miami -Dade County for educational and outreach
programs.
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for the
purposes set forth above, in forms acceptable to the General Counsel.
Section 4. The Executive Director is further authorized to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a
reimbursement basis or directly to vendors, upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory
documentation.
Section 5. Funds are to be allocated from Omni Tax Increment Funds, entitled "Other Grants and
Aids", Account Code No. 10040.920101.883000.00000.
Section 6. s Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
