Hannon Clerk of the Board k rk\ii lj» Dade (:rollegc Maui Inemadonal xd;tycaas MARRIOTT MARQUIS MIAMI CONVENTION & EXPO CENTER - WHAT ARE WE ASKING & WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? • To capture 75 percent of the of future incremental TIF (excluding any future increase of the value of the land) for a net benefit to the project of approximately $42.3 million (or at 65 percent of the future TIF $34 million) • The request assumes the extension of the CRA from 2030 to 2042 to meet the ultimate goals of the CRA in addition to benefit this project, it will address the crucial needs including: • Affordable Housing • Work force training and development • Child care and youth services • In addition MDM is committed to building a privately owned state of the art facility, that will ultimately improve the quality of life for residents, and that will generate induced demand for: • At least 1,350 careers with local hiring preferences • Quality wage and well -crafted benefits as well as • Grow personal careers while enhancing family stability and security • Build and support local institutions • Opportunities for new and locally owned and operated businesses, subcontractors and vendors • New business opportunities, jobs & careers for our neighbors • And ultimately support the redevelopment of an Overtown community that: • is historically significant, culturally rich • has Sidewalks and streets that are safe • has a Pedestrian friendly neighborhood • and that is Economically vibrant Submitted into the public record in connection with Item on Todd B.
