HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-15-0035City of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution: CRA-R-15-0035 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-01128 Final Action Date: 9/10/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, DE -ALLOCATING $22,500.00 FROM THE "DOG RUN AT MARGARET PACE PARK" PROJECT AND ALLOCATING THE SAME AMOUNT OF $22,500.00 TO HOMELESS ASSISTANCE. WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan ("Plan"); and WHEREAS, Section 5.5, page 94 of the Plan lists "to improve the quality of life of existing residents" as an implicit goal; and WHEREAS, Section 5.5, page 94 of the Plan lists to "increase the workforce competitiveness of the Omni District as it relates to other areas of the Miami and Miami -Dade County" as an implicit goal; and WHEREAS, Section 5.5, page 89 of the Plan identifies the need to "provide employment opportunities and upward job mobility for residents" as a goal; and WHEREAS, Section 5.5, page 96 and page 97 of the Plan organizes strategies to "Improve Employment Opportunities and Upward Job Mobility" into two categories: job generation, and employment and training; and WHEREAS, Section 4.4, Goal C, page 41 of the Plan seeks to "provide incentives for the development of a variety of housing choices, including affordable, special; needs and workforce housing"; and WHEREAS, Section 4.4, Goal D, Objective A-2, page 42 of the Plan identifies the need to "eliminate conditions which contribute to blight"; and WHEREAS, the funding of homeless assistance programs will provide outreach, assessment, placement, information, referral, and transportation services to homeless individuals and families in a caring and professional manner and to employ and train formerly homeless men and women; and WHEREAS, the Countywide homeless enumeration conducted in February 2002 shows that 49% of the homeless population is within the City of Miami with a large portion located within the boundaries of the CRA; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to de -allocate $22,500.00 from the "Dog Run at Margaret Pace Park" Project and reallocate $22,500.00 to homeless assistance; City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 15-01128 (Version: 1) Printed On: 9/30/2022 File Number: 15-01128 Enactment Number: CRA-R-15-0035 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Funding previously allocated by Resolution No. CRA-R-14-0033 in the amount of $22,500.00 to the "Dog Run at Margaret Pace Park" Project is hereby de -allocated. Section 3. $22,500.00 is to be allocated to homeless assistance. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute any other documents, in a form legally acceptable to the General Counsel, in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. Section 5.
