Woods, III elkdi References: Executive Director Enclosures: Supporting Documentation; Legislation BACKGROUND: The attached Resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") authorizes the Executive Director to procure professional marketing services for the Redevelopment Area. Significant development is occurring in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Area ("Redevelopment Area") and it is necessary to inform current and prospective residents and current and prospective business owners about the changes occurring therein. On July 30, 2014, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-14-0054, approved and adopted the CRA's proposed budget; said budget allocated $200,000 for marketing services. The CRA seeks to procure professional services to market and promote current and future development within the Redevelopment Area to include redesign and website enhancements, digital production, 3-D video conceptualization, and household mailings containing informative materials including CRA newsletter to disseminate information about the Redevelopment Area. JUSTIFICATION: Section 2, Goal 5, at page 11, of the Plan lists the "[p]romotion and marketing of the community," as a stated redevelopment goal. Futher, Section 2, Principle 6, at page 15, of the Plan provides that in order to "address and improve the neighbor economy and expand economic opportunities of present and future residents and businesses[,] ... [it is necessary to] support and enhance existing businesses and ... attract new businesses that provide needed services and economic opportunities ...". The Plan at page 128 also allows for the "... distrib[ution of] information regarding community redevelopment to the community's residents, property owners, elected officials, and activists". FUNDING: $200,000 allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, entitled "Professional Services" Account No. 10050.920101.531000.0000.00000.
