HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-14-0066City of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution: CRA-R-14-0066 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 14-01269 Final Action Date: 12/11/2014 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("OMNI CRA"), WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO ISSUE AN INVITATION TO BID, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, SOLICITING PURCHASERS FOR THE OMNI CRA OWNED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1401 N. MIAMI AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA WITH A MINIMUM BID OF $4 MILLION; FURTHER DIRECTING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO PRESENT ANY RESPONSIVLE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CRA. WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") owns the real property located at 1401 N. Miami Avenue, also known as Firehouse #2 ("Property"); and WHEREAS, the CRA completed a renovation of the Property in 2012; and WHEREAS, the Property, which is on the National Historic Registry, has been home to the CRA for 2 years; and WHEREAS, the CRA seeks to solicit purchasers for the Property through an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"). The terms of the ITB shall require that after the sale of the Property, the CRA shall occupy the second floor of the Property until the CRA's Sunset date - October 2030; and WHEREAS, the sale of the Property will allow for additional monies to be reinvested and will further the goal of eliminating slum and blight in the Omni CRA area; and WHEREAS, the Executive Director recommends this action to the CRA Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency Board authorizes the Executive Director to issue an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"), in substantially the attached form, seeking purchasers for the real property located at 1401 N. Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida, with more particular terms and requirements as set forth in the ITB and a minimum bid of $4 million. Section 3. The Executive Director is directed to present to the Board of Commissioners of the CRA the responsive and responsible bidders and is further required to seek approval of the City of City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 14-01269 (Version: 2) Printed On: 10/7/2022 File Number: 14-01269 Enactment Number: CRA-R-14-0066 Miami for the conveyance of any property pursuant to the City Deed. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
