We prepare youth to create jobs for
themselves and for others
WHY FACE?
Preparing youth for summer
employment is more than what it
seems —a way for teens to earn extra
money. Rather, it is an integral part of
the process for youth to be exposed to
potential educational and career paths.
Together, we can break the barriers for
low-income youth to enter the
workforce, connect with career mentors
and work towards a future that includes
successful participation in the global
economy.
STATE OF YOUTH
UNEMPLOYMENT

are unemployed
• Globally, .52 Million of youth are
trapped in low -paying informal

• The black youth unemployment
rate in the US for ages 16-39 is

unemployment rate -Bureau of
Labor Statistics (BLS)
OPPORTUNIY YOUTH
• Thousands of young Americans
engage in youth -run enterprises
• Youth -run enterprises and support
from brands benefit both
consumers and businesses
• Miami -Fort Lauderdale has the 4th
highest rate of entrepreneurial
activity in the US
• Youth entrepreneurship
opportunities are necessary to keep
communities growing, especially in
times of high unemployment and
economic difficulties
