FOR THE 2014 SUMMER YOUTH TRAINING INSTITUTE; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO APPROVE BUDGET MODIFICATIONS UNDER THE GRANT, PROVIDED THAT THE OVERALL AMOUNT OF GRANT FUNDING APPROVED HEREIN IS NOT EXCEEDED; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the Southeast OvertownlPark West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with the 2009 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan ("Plan"); and WHEREAS, Goal 4, at page 11, of the Plan provides the "creat[ion of] jobs within the community" as a stated redevelopment goal; and WHEREAS, Urgent, Inc., a local non-profit committed to issues impacting children and youth, seeks assistance in administering a summer youth employment program that would help to combat youth unemployment throughout the Redevelopment Area; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution Nos. CRA-R-10-0038, CRA-R-11-0027, has previously supported the establishment of summer employment programs for youth by Urgent, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the 2014 Summer Youth Training Institute will operate for 7 weeks and afford youth, ages 16 to 24, with the opportunity to build and advance their skills in one of four disciplines: (1) Film Production; (2) Visual Arts; (3) Cultural Tourism; and (4) Entrepreneurship; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $205,000, to Urgent, Inc. for the 2014 Summer Youth Training Institute; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that the adoption of this Resolution would further the aforementioned redevelopment goals; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWNJPARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page I of 2 File Id: 14-00401 (Version: 1) Printed On: 4/21/2014 File Number: 14-00401 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $205,000, to Urgent, Inc. for the 2014 Summer Youth Training Institute is hereby authorized. Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purpose, and to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a reimbursement basis of directly to vendors, upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory documentation. Section 4. The Executive Director is further authorized to approve budget modifications under the grant, provided that the overall amount of grant funding approved herein is not exceed. Section 5. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Other Grants and Aids," Account Code No. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000. Section 6.
