Hannon Clerk of the Board The Overtown Music & Arts Festival will celebrate the rich history of one of Miami's historically , black communities, where some of music's biggest stars, including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday, performed and stayed. Headliner Marketing Groups' overall mission for the 4th Annual Festival in Overtown, is to promote and celebrate the rich history and culture of the community, through the re-creation, planning, coordination and presentation of the Overtown Music & Arts Festival formerly known as Overtown Rhythm & Arts Festival. his year's Festival will feature national & local music cts, local vendors, and local visual arts schools/artists in n effort to promote and bring "shining" attention to the vertown community. The Festival will take place on June 14, 2014 in the Business District (NW 3rd Avenu between 8th & 11th Streets). Admission is free t veryone. The street will be transformed into owcase of local vendors showcasing their artwor local services. We plan to have two stages (one located at NW 3rd & llth Street and NW 3rd & 8th Street) which will feature national & local music artists. The genre of music will be Blues, Jazz, and R&B. In addition we will have a dedicated Youth Zone, presented by Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success (T.E.E.S.), which will introduce the youth to arts & culture through hands on activities. Artwork from local artists will be on display throughout the festival. Vendors will be on hand serving up traditional Caribbean cuisines, local produce, southern style BBQ, authentic spices and more. HMG plans to involve local schools and their students who are studying visual arts to create works highlighting the history and culture of Overtown through paint and photography.
