A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA")
DEALLOCATING $100,000 IN FUNDS PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED TO THE MIAMI
ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX AND ALLOCATING SAME TO ACCOUNT "GRANT
AND OTHER AIDS", TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF MIAMI A GRANT FOR
ASSISTANCE IN PURCHASING A CAB AND BROWN BOX FIRE TRUCK FOR USE
IN THE CRA DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within the
redevelopment area in accordance with its approved redevelopment plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 4.4, C-1 at page 42 of the 2009 Omni Area Redevelopment Plan lists
"[p]roviding for adequate public utilities and services for the area's residents and businesses" as a
redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, the deallocation of $100,000 from the design phase of the Miami Entertainment
Complex ("MEC") will allow the CRA to fund a vital redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to deallocate $100,000 from the MEC Design
Phase "Construction in Progress" and allocate same amount as a grant, to the City of Miami to
provide the City of Miami a grant for assistance in purchasing a cab and brown box fire truck for use
in the CRA district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA;
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The amount of $100,000 is deallocated from the MEC Design Phase "Construction
in Progress" and is allocated to the City of Miami as a grant, to provide the City of Miami a grant for
assistance in purchasing a cab and brown box fire truck for use in the CRA district.
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
