BACKGROUND:
It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community
Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") approve and adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the expenditure of
funds, in an amount not to exceed $26,637.88, for the payment of outstanding invoices relation to the
streetscape improvements along the 3`d Avenue Business Corridor in Overtown, from N.W. 7th Street to N.W.
14th Street ("N.W. 3rd Avenue Streetscape").
The Board of Commissioners, by Resolution Nos. CRA-R-05-0050, passed and adopted on December 15,
2005, and CRA-R-07-0038, passed and adopted on September 24, 2007, authorized the expenditure of funds
for streetscape improvements along the 3rd Avenue Business Corridor in Overtown, from N.W. 7th Street to N.W.
14th Street. On December 15, 2008, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-08-0073, passed
and adopted on December 15, 2008, authorized an additional $1,300,000 to complete an expanded scope of
the N.W. 3rd Avenue Streetscape at the request of the City of Miami's Department of Capital improvements
("CIP"), which was responsible for managing the N.W. 3`d Avenue Streetscape on behalf of the CRA.
The Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-11-0057, passed and adopted on November 28, 2011,
de -allocated all remaining fund balances previously authorized by Resolution No. CRA-R-08-0073 upon the
belief that the N.W. 3`d Avenue Streetscape had been completed and there were no outstanding invoices from
the contractor and/or CIP. However, CIP has now advised the CRA that there remains an outstanding balance
of $26,637.88 for work performed in connection to the N.W. 3`d Avenue Streetscape.
