A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING THE EXERCISE OF THE FIRST ONE-YEAR RENEWAL OPTION
UNDER THE AGREEMENT WITH HORSEPOWER ELECTRIC, INC. FOR
MAINTENANCE OF CERTAIN STREETLIGHTS, FORA TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $25,000 FOR THE YEAR; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW, "OTHER
CONTRACTUAL SERVICES," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10050.920101.534000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA")
is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its
Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 2, Goal 6, at page 11, of the Plan lists "improving the quality of life for
residents," as a stated redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, Principle 10, at page 16, of the Plan also lists "[m]aintance of public streets and
spaces ... in a consistent manner ..." as a stated redevelopment principle; and
WHEREAS, the CRA maintains a number of public streetlights throughout the Redevelopment
Area; and
WHEREAS, the CRA's Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-11-0022, passed
and adopted on April 25, 2011, authorized the execution of a professional services agreement
between the CRA and Horsepower Electric, Inc. to provide maintenance services for a number of
public streetlights for a one (1) year period with the option of four (4) additional one (1) year periods,
at a cost not to exceed $25,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, on September 1, 2011, the CRA and Horsepower Electric, Inc. entered into a
professional services agreement to provide streetlight maintenance services on CRA-maintained
streetlights for a one (1) period with the option of four (4) additional one-year periods, at a cost not to
exceed $25,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to ensure uninterrupted service, the Executive Director wishes to
exercise the first one (1) year renewal option at no increase in cost; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the exercise of the renewal
option;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY

OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The exercise of the first one (1) year option renewal option under the
Agreement with Horsepower Electric, Inc. for maintenance of certain streetlights, for an total amount
not to exceed $25,000 for the year, is hereby authorized.
Section 3. Funds are to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Other
Contractual Services," Account Code No. 10050.920101.534000.0000.00000.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
