References: Enclosures: Supporting Documentation; Legislation BACKGROUND: It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners of the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") approve and adopt the attached resolution authorizing the purchase and installation of picket fencing and necessary ancillary amenities to create and provide a separate area for dog owners and residents to walk and play with their dogs, that does not interfere with the public use of the rest of Margaret Pace Park, located at 1775 North Bayshore Drive, Miami, FI. JUSTIFICATION: Pursuant to Chapter 163.370(2)(a), Florida Statues, requires the OMNI CRA, through its Executive Director, to make and execute contracts necessary to effectuate the purposes and provisions of the OMNI Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Plan. In addition, section 4.4, D, at page 42, of the 2009 Omni Redevelopment Plan, lists "[i]mprovements to the public realm," and the "enhance[ment of] the area's visual attractiveness to businesses and residents" as stated redevelopment objectives. FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF PICKET FENCING AT MARGARET PACE PARK, LOCATED AT 1775 N. Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida ("Margaret Pace Park"); and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize an expenditure, in an amount not to exceed $80,000, with USA Ornamental Iron, Inc. for the purchase and installation of picket fencing and necessary ancillary amenities for a dog park at Margaret Pace Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The expenditure of funds, in an amount not to exceed $80,000 with USA Ornamental Iron, Inc. for the purchase and installation of picket fencing and necessary ancillary amenities to create and provide a separate area for dog owners and residents to walk and play with City of Mianti Page 1 of 2 File Id: 12-01349 (Version: I) Printed On: 11/9/2012 File Number: 12-01349 their dogs, that does not interfere with the public use of the rest of the Margaret Pace Park, is authorized. Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a reimbursement basis or directly to vendors, upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory documentation. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purpose, in a form acceptable to General Counsel. Section 5. Funds to be allocated from Omni Tax increment Fund, "Other Grants and Aids," Account Code No. 10040.920101.883000.0000.00000. Section 6.
