A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("SEOPW
CRA"), expressing support for the naming of the gym at Gibson Park located at 350
n.w. 12TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA 33136 ("PROPERTY"), AS "Udonis Haslem
GYM"; with terms and conditions to be determined by the City of Miami City
Commission ("PURPOSE"). AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO
PROVIDE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE
GENERAL COUNSEL FOR THE ALLOCATION OF THE FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency
("SEOPW CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects
within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section IV. D, at page 31, of the Plan provides that "the provision of adequate
community facilities and services is essential in order to complement redevelopment activities
proposed for Overtown...;" and
WHEREAS, Section 163. 370(2)(c)(3), Florida Statutes, provides that the SEOPW CRA may
construct parks, playgrounds, public areas ... and other improvements necessary for carrying out in
the community redevelopment area the community redevelopment objectives in accordance with the
community redevelopment plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 163. 370(2)( a), the SEOPW CRA may
execute any contracts or other instruments necessary or convenient to exercise its powers. Herein an
Amendment to the First Amendment to Grant Agreement by and between the SEOPW CRA and the
City of Miami, Gibson Park, dated, October 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's Department of Capital Improvements Program ("CIP") is
currently engaged in the renovation of Gibson Park located at 350 N.W. 12th Street, Miami, Florida
33136 ("Property"); and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Motion on File No. 10-00327, passed and
adopted on March 15, 2010, authorized a grant in an amount not to exceed $ 8,000,000.00 plus
interest, to the City of Miami for the renovation of Gibson Park; and
WHEREAS, the SEOPW CRA and the City of Miami did enter into a First Amendment to Grant
Agreement by and between the SEOPW CRA and the City of Miami, Gibson Park, dated, October 31,
2011 based on the resolution referenced above; and
WHEREAS, the SEOPW CRA expresses it's support for the naming of the gym at Gibson
Park as "Udonis Haslem Gym" with terms and conditions to be determined by the City of Miami City

Commission ("Purpose"); and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that authorizing this Resolution would further
the SEOPW CRA redevelopment goals and objectives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Executive Director is authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement,
including any and all necessary documents, and all -in forms acceptable to the General Counsel, for
said Purpose.
Section 3. Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re -lettered and corrections of
typographical errors which do not affect the intent may be authorized by the Executive Director, or the
Executive Director's designee, without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with
the City of Miami City Clerk.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
