HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-12-0023 02-27-12 Legislation (Signed)City of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 vwwv.miamigov.com File Number: 12-00185 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE CAFE BUILDING AT BICENTENNIAL PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $37,173.38; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE AND AMEND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED FROM OMNI TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10040.920101.534000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0043, passed and adopted on May 13, 2010, authorized the issuance of a grant to the City of Miami ("City"), for the demolition and removal of the' Cafe Building, its adjoining structures, and the fountain structure at Bicentennial Park, 1075 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, the scope of work for the City's demolition contract estimated the amount of debris hauling and disposal; and WHEREAS, due to unforeseen conditions, the amount of demolition debris hauling and disposal exceeded the estimated amount; and WHEREAS, the City's Building Department seeks reimbursement for the additional costs associated with the demolition debris hauling and disposal; and WHEREAS, sections 1, 4 and 5, on page 41, of the Omni CRA redevelopment plan lists the goals of providing greater connectivity, creating opportunities for new development through improvements to the public realm and providing incentives and strategies for public/private development; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to increase the total funds granted to the City from $47,000 to $96,730; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page I of 2 File Id: 12-00185 (Version: I) Printed On: 2/16/2012 File Number: 12-00185 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $96,730 to the City of Miami, thereby increasing the previous grant authorized by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0043 for the demolition and removal of the Cafe building, its adjoining structures, and the fountain structure at Bicentennial Park, 1075 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida, is authorized. Section 3. The reallocation and expenditure of excess funds, in an amount not to exceed $10,401.24, toward the necessary re -grading and removal of trees at the demolition site, is authorized. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a reimbursement basis or directly to vendors, upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory documentation. Section 5. The Executive Director is authorized to execute and amend all documents necessary for said purpose, in a form acceptable to General Counsel. Section 6. Funds to be allocated from the Omni Tax Increment Fund, "Other Contractual Services," Account Code No. 10040.920101.534000.0000.00000. Section 7.
