Bockweg Executive Director Subject: DRI reimbursement request to the City of Miami References: Enclosures: Legislation BACKGROUND: It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") approve and adopt the attached Resolution directing the Executive Director to request the City Manager of the City of Miami to present a Resolution to the Miami City Commission authorizing and directing the City of Miami to reimburse the CRA, the expenses the CRA incurred in obtaining and updating the Southeast Overtown/Park West development of regional impact development order in an amount of 165,691. JUSTIFICATION: In Resolution No.'s R-88-110 and R-88-111, passed and adopted on February 11, 1988, the Miami City Commission approved a Master Development Order for the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Area Pursuant to Resolution No. SEOPW/CRA R-01-51, passed and adopted May 21, 2001, as amended by Resolution No. SEOPW/CRA R-01-105, passed and adopted July 30,2001, the CRA engaged Dover, Kohl & Partners and authorized funding in an amount not to exceed $165,691 to update the 1982 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan (the "Amended Plan"). Dover, Kohl & Partners completed the Amended Plan in cooperation with the City of Miami Department of Planning and Zoning, other City departments and agencies, and input from stakeholders of the redevelopment area; and The Amended Plan addresses the requirements of Section 163.362, Florida Statutes, including: general design standards, zoning and planning changes, land uses, demolition and removal of structures, improvements, redevelopment, rehabilitation, and identification of funding through possible public and or public/private partnerships; and On January 31, 2005, pursuant to Resolution No. CRA-R-05-0003, the CRA Board authorized funding in an amount not to exceed $73,500 for the update recommended by the City of Miami Planning and Zoning Department. Section 13-101 of the Code of City of Miami authorizes reimbursement to the CRA for the expenses incurred in the DRI/Master Plan Study and future related studies This Resolution carries out these objectives.
