A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY AND
PROPERTY INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 29
N.W. 13TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, THROUGH PAN AM ASSURANCE
AGENCY, INC., FORA ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD COMMENCING MARCH 29, 2011,
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $55,000; REALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR
FROM OMNI GENERAL OPERATING FUND, "BUDGET RESERVE," ACCOUNT
CODE NO. 10030.920101.896000.0000.00000 TO OMNI GENERAL OPERATING
FUND, "INSURANCE," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10030.920101.545000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA")
owns the property located at 29 N.W. 13th Street, Miami, Florida ("Miami Skill Center"); and
WHEREAS, the CRA must purchase commercial general liability and property insurance
coverage to protect against loss and any other potential risk; and
WHEREAS, the CRA received quotes from three insurance brokers, the lowest quote being
provided by Pan Am Assurance Agency, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the purchase of commercial
general liability and property insurance coverage for the Miami Skill Center, through Pan Am
Assurance Agency, Inc., for a one (1) year period commencing March 29, 2011, in an amount not to
exceed $55,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The purchase of commercial general liability and property insurance coverage for
the property located at 29 Northwest Thirteenth Street, Miami, Florida, through Pan Am Assurance
Agency, Inc., for a one (1) period commencing March 29, 2011, in an amount not to exceed $55,000,
is authorized.
Section 3. Funds to be reallocated from Omni General Operating Fund, "Budget Reserve,"
Account Code No. 10030.920101.896000.0000.00000 to Omni General Operating Fund, "Insurance,"
Account Code No. 10030.920101.545000.0000.00000.
Section 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
