A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. CRA-R-10-0039; REDIRECTING PREVIOUSLY
AUTHORIZED FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $14,300, TOWARD
THE UNDERWRITING OF COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE "CHILL THE
VIOLENCE" INITIATIVE ORGANIZED BY THE OVERTOWN COMMUNITY
OVERSIGHT BOARD; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO
DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR
DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND
SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW
TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment
Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 2, Principle 14, at page 17, of the 2009 Southeast Overtown/Park West
Redevelopment Plan lists "[restoring] a sense of community and [unifying] the area culturally," as a
stated redevelopment goal; and
WHEREAS, in April 2010, the Overtown Community Oversight Board ("OCOB") requested
assistance from the CRA for its "Stop the Violence" initiative, to be held in May 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0039, passed and
adopted on May 13, 2010, authorized the issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed S14,300, to
underwrite the costs associated with the "Stop the Violence" initiative organized by the OCOB; and
WHEREAS, the OCOB was unable to host the Stop the Violence event in May 2010, and now
seeks to redirect funds toward the new CHILL the Violence initiative to be held in March 2011; and
WHEREAS, the CHILL the Violence initiative addresses the issue of violence against youth
through events that focus on crime awareness and prevention; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to rescind Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0039,
and redirect S14,300 previously authorized toward the underwriting of costs associated with the CHILL
the Violence initiative organized by the OCOB;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY

Section 2. Resolution No. CRA-R-1 0-0039 is hereby rescinded.

Violence" initiative organized by the Overtown Community Oversight Board ("OCOB").
Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to diGbU:S8 funds, at his d|SCrSti0O' on o
reimbursement basis or directly to v8OdO[S' upon presentation of invoices and satisfactory
documentation.
Section 5. The Executive Oi[8Ct0[ is authorized to 8x9CUt8 all documents n8C8SS8ry for said
purpose, in a form acceptable to General Counsel.
