A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA"),
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE NEW LOGO FOR THE
CRA; ACKNOWLEDGING THE WORK OF ALEX E. ALEXANDER; PROVIDING
FORA POST -SECONDARY SCHOOL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP, IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $2,500, IN CONSIDERATION THEREFOR; AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE THE SCHOLARSHIP, AT HIS
DISCRETION, UPON PRESENTATION OF SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY
FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL;
ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW GENERAL OPERATING FUND, "OTHER
CONTRACTUAL SERVICES," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10030.920101.534000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the CRA, through Booker T. Washington Senior High School located within the
SEOPW Redevelopment Area, created a logo design competition for students to develop a new logo
for the CRA; and
WHEREAS, the winner of the design competition would receive up to $2,500 as an academic
scholarship for post -secondary school education; and
WHEREAS, Alex E. Alexander submitted the winning design; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to, approve and adopt the new logo for the
CRA, acknowledge the work of Alex E. Alexander and provide a scholarship, in an amount not to
exceed $2,500, in consideration therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The new CRA logo is approved and adopted.
Section 3. The work of Alex E. Alexander is hereby acknowledged.
Section 4. An academic scholarship, for post -secondary education, in an amount not to
exceed $2,500, is hereby provided in consideration therefor.
Section 5. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse the scholarship, at his discretion,

upon presentation of satisfactory documentation.
Section 6. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said
purpose, in a form acceptable to General Counsel.
Section 7. Funds to be allocated from SEOPW General Operating Fund, "Other Contractual
Services," Account Code No. 10030.920101.534000.0000.00000.
Section 8. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
