A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $1,500,000, FOR THE INTERIOR DEMOLITION AND BUILD -OUT OF
THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 300 N.W. 11TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA;
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE SAID FUNDS
DIRECTLY TO VENDORS OR THROUGH PURCHASE ORDERS ISSUED BY CITY
OF MIAMI CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM ("CIP"), PROVIDED THAT CIP
HAS DEMONSTRATED ITS COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE RULES AND
REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE AWARD OF CONTRACTS TO SAID
VENDORS; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND,
"CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS," ACCOUNT CODE NO.
10050.920101.670000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment
Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 2, Goal 1/Principle 8, at pages 11 and 15, of the 2009 Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan, lists "[p]reserving historic building and
community heritage;" and that "[o]Ider buildings that embody the area's cultural past should be
restored;" as stated redevelopment goals; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0026, passed and
adopted on May 13, 2010, authorized the purchase of the property at 300 N.W. 11th Street, Miami,
Florida, for its continued preservation and rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, the CRA proposes to use the property as a community center/computer lab or
banquet facility for residents of the SEOPW Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project will require the demolition of property's interior with a
build -out to accommodate the proposed uses; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize the expenditure of funds, in an
amount not to exceed $1,500,000, for the interior demolition and build -out of the property located at
300 N.W. 11th Street, Miami, Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted

by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The expenditure of funds, in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000, for the interior
demolition and build -out of the property located at 300 Northwest Eleventh Street, Miami, Florida, is
authorized.
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse said funds directly to vendors, or
through purchase orders issued by the City of Miami Capital Improvements Program ("CIP"), provided
that CIP has demonstrated its compliance with all applicable rules and regulations governing the
award of contracts to said vendors.
Section 4. Funds to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Construction in
Progress," Account Code No. 10050.920101.670000.0000.00000.
Section 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
