Appraisals within the Redevelopment Area.

BACKGROUND:
It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community
Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") approve and adopt the attached Resolution authorizing expenditures, in a total
amount not to exceed $15,000, for appraisals of properties within the Redevelopment Area.
There may be several properties within the Redevelopment Area suitable for furthering the CRA's
redevelopment efforts, which include: public improvements; parks, plazas and green spaces; assisting with
transportation systems; and parking facilities. Thus, the appraisals of property are a necessary component of
the CRA's redevelopment efforts.
JUSTIFICATION:
Section 2, Goal 2, at page 11, of the 2009 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan, lists
"[e]xpanding the tax base through the use of Smart Growth planning principles," as a stated redevelopment
goal.
This Resolution carries out this goal.
FUNDING: $15,000 from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Professional Services," Account Code No.
10050.920101.531000.0000.00000.
