BACKGROUND:
It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners of the Omni Redevelopment District Community
Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") approve and adopt the attached Resolution amending the CRA Personnel
Policies and Procedures Manual to require mandatory ethics courses for all CRA employees.
The new policy will require all CRA employees (regardless of position) to attend at least one ethics course every
three years and that new -hires attend an ethics course within six months of their hire date. This will ensure that
all CRA employees are familiar with the requirements of the Florida Code of Ethics for Public Officers and
Employees.
JUSTIFICATION:
Section 163.367, Florida Statutes, states that "employees of a community redevelopment agency ... shall be
subject to the provisions and requirements of part III of chapter 112," the Florida Code of Ethics for Public
Officers and Employees.
FUNDING: No fiscal impact.
