HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-10-0067City of Miami Legislation CRA Resolution: CRA-R-10-0067 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 10-01098 Final Action Date: 9/20/2010 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), RATIFYING THE ISSUANCE OF WORK ORDERS, AS MORE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH IN ATTACHMENT "A," IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,764.50; AUTHORIZING THE ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $9,235.50, FOR TOTAL EXPENDITURES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000, FOR THE GENERAL MAINTENANCE OF THE 9TH STREET PEDESTRIAN MALL; PROVIDING THAT ANY EXPENDITURE IN EXCESS OF $4,500 BE BROUGHT TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL OR RATIFICATION; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.534000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, Section 2, Goal 6/Principle 10, at pages 11 and 16, of the 2009 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan lists "[i]mproving the quality of life for residents," and the "[m]aintenance of public streets and spaces ... in a consistent manner," as stated redevelopment goals; and WHEREAS, in 2005, $40,000 were allocated to the CRA by the City of Miami's Public Works Department for the general maintenance of the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall; and WHEREAS, the CRA, by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0017, passed and adopted on March 15, 2010, supports the Folk Life Fridays open-air market event on the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall; and WHEREAS, the CRA began certain renovations on the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall in preparation for upcoming Folk Life Friday events, including pressure washing, painting, fencing and landscaping; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to ratify the issuance of work orders, as more specifically set forth in Attachment "A," in a total amount not to exceed $30,764.50, and the additional expenditures of $9,235.50, for total expenditures, in an amount not to exceed $40,000, for the general maintenance of the 9th Street Pedestrian Mall; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 10-01098 (Version: 1) Printed On: 12/15/2022 File Number: 10-01098 Enactment Number: CRA-R-10-0067 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The issuance of work orders, as more specifically set forth in Attachment "A," in a total amount not to exceed $30,764.50, for the general maintenance of the Ninth Street Pedestrian Mall, is ratified. Section 3. The additional expenditure of funds, in an amount not to exceed $9,235.50, for total expenditures in an amount not to exceed $40,000, for the general maintenance of the Ninth Street Pedestrian Mall, provided any expenditure in excess of $4,500 be brought to the Board for approval or ratification, is authorized. Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purpose in a form acceptable to General Counsel. Section 5. Funds to be allocated from SEOPW Tax Increment Fund, "Other Contractual Services," Account Code No. 10050.920101.534000.0000.00000. Section 6.
