The :mission of Suited For Success is to ensure that :at -risk women, men and youth in Miami have the skills necessary to obtain gainful employment and achieve economic self- sufficiency. Since inception in 1994, Suited For Success has provided employability skills training and free professional attire to over 25,000 residents. With our new home in the heart of Overtown (The "Success Center" at Dorsey House), and funding from the CRA, we Will now have the opportunity to provide our services directly:to those agencies in the neighborhood that have called upon us for our program services: The Hospitality Training Program (Miami Dade College), YWCA, Booker T. Washington High School, Frederick Douglas Elementary School, Overtown Youth Center, Transition Inc., The Overtown NET office :as well as those individuals that are residents of the community and are seeking employment. We feel that our "Success Center" will be ,a-ixemendous asset in the neighborhood. As well as our direct services, SFS offers .a Career Center promoting confidenceand professionalism by providing clients with career guidance, -technology skills, and jab -seeking support. For those women that have found work, SFS provides -the Professional Women's Group (PWG), a job -retention -program to provide career development and ongoing support to our clients. In addition to providing services -to adult men and women, we also have a youth program, Start'Now, for youth .ages $ through It, providing :self-esteem :building, social skills, business etiquette/manners and interviewing skills leading our youth to self- sufficiency and empowerment. With funding from the CRA, SFS proposes to teach over 600 adults and 300 ,youth in the upcoming year. Thank you for your consideration. Program Suited for Success, Inc. ("Grantee") shall provide, manage and operate a job skills training and career development program benefitting at -risk women, men and youth who reside in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Area ("Program Area"). Grantee shall implement its service within the Program Area through two distinct programs (the "Programs") benefitting the Program Area residential population; one that targets the adults; the other targeting youths. Recruitment Grantee shall utilize the following methods in recruiting Youth Participants and Adult Participants (collectively, the "Participants"): a) Referral process with established network of agencies and social service providers throughout Miami -Dade County; b) Specific outreach to community organizations within Overtown; c) Monthly open house events held at the Dorsey House; d) Grantee's official website; e) Press releases, community outreach, and marketing; and f) Referral process with established partnerships with schools in the Program Area. Grantee shall also refer Participants to the CRA's website for info en = on job fairs, job openings, job training activities, and other events taking place within the Pro, d ea. Ill. Monitoring Period For the six (6) month period following the completion of the Programs ("Monitoring Period"), Grantee shall submit a report ("Monitoring Report") to the CRA documenting the monitoring sessions of Program Graduates. The Grantee shall submit a Monitoring Report twice during the Monitoring Period; at the end of a three (3) month and a six (6) month interval during the Monitoring Period. VII. Performance Goals Grantee shall meet Perfoiniance Goals set for the Programs. To ensure Grantee's compliance with Program goals, the CRA shall withhold 20% of all payment requests to the CRA until Program goals are verified by a CRA representative at the completion of the Program and the required Monitoring Reports are provided to the CRA.
