A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL FUNDING, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$120,000, FORA TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $240,000, TO KEEP MIAMI
BEAUTIFUL, INC., FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE SUMMER YOUTH
ENVIRONMENTAL EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A
REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION
OF SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR
SAID PURPOSE, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL;
ALLOCATING FUNDING FROM SEOPW TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER
GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is
responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment
Area in accordance with its approved Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 2, Goal 4/Principle 6, at pages 11 and 15, of the 2009 Southeast
Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Plan, lists "[c]reating jobs within the Community," and promoting
local businesses as stated redevelopment goals; and
WHEREAS, the Summer Youth Environmental Employment Program ("Summer Program") is
designed to teach individual responsibility through programs that improve the environment in blighted
neighborhoods by means of litter prevention, waste minimization, and recycling initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, by Resolution No. CRA-R-10-0038, passed and
adopted on May 13, 2010, authorized the issuance of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $120,000, to
Keep Miami Beautiful for its Summer Program; and
WHEREAS, the Summer Program has been well received by residents of the Redevelopment
Area, with over 500 applicants for 80 positions; and
WHEREAS, Keep Miami Beautiful, Inc. now proposes to expand the Summer Program to
accommodate an additional 40 individuals for placement with the City of Miami's Solid Waste and
Parks & Recreation Departments; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to authorize additional funding, in an amount
not to exceed $120,000, to Keep Miami Beautiful, Inc., for the expansion of the Summer Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY

OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Additional funding, in an amount not to exceed $120,000, for a total amount not to
exceed $240,000, to Keep Miami Beautiful, Inc., for the expansion of the Summer Youth
Environmental Employment Program, is authorized.
Section 3. The Executive Director is authorized to disburse funds, at his discretion, on a
reimbursement basis or directly to vendors, upon presentation of satisfactory documentation.
Section 4. The Executive Director is authorized to execute all documents necessary for said
purpose, in form acceptable to General Counsel.
Section 5. Funds to be allocated from SEOPW Tax increment Fund, "Other Grants and Aids,"
Account Code No. 10050.920101.883000.0000.00000.
Section 6. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
